The Lantern Walk, for victims of violence and their family members, provides a safe and supportive space for survivors, their families, and allies to come together, share their stories, and find solace in the company of others who understand their journey. It is a solemn yet empowering occasion, where the flickering light of the lanterns reflects the courage and determination to overcome adversity.

As the walk commences, the gentle illumination of the lanterns creates a sacred path, guiding participants along a route of remembrance and reflection. The atmosphere is one of quiet contemplation, as walkers honor the lives lost, offer support to the survivors and victims family members, and stand in solidarity against violence in all its forms.

Along the path, participants may encounter moments of healing and connection, where speakers share stories of resilience, advocate offer resources and support, and artistic expressions serves as powerful reminder of the humans spirit’s capacity to heal and transform.

The Lantern Walk is not only a symbolic gesture, but also a call to action. It serves as a platform to raise awareness about the causes and consequences of violence, inspiring individuals and communities to work together towards prevention, intervention, and support for survivors, and families.

At the conclusion of the walk, a gathering space awaits, providing an opportunity for participants to come together, share their own experiences, and find comfort in the embrace of a compassionate community. Here, conversations are sparked, connections are made, and resources are shared, fostering an environment of support and empowerment.

The Lantern Walk serves as a beacon of hope, and light, reminding us that even in the face of darkness, there is strength in unity, healing in community, and solace in the light that we carry within ourselves and for one another.
